Conclusion

Youth indicators are subject to modification as the society progresses. As indicators are being updated and further developed, not only will new statistical data emerge which reflects the changing situations of young people in the society, certain obsolete indicators will also be replaced by new indicators which reflect the changing society. The Education and Youth Development Bureau has adjusted and optimised the Macau Youth Indicators Profile in 2007, 2017 and 2021 respectively, and introduced new indicators in due course to better reflect the current state of youth development.

The creation, refinement and continuous implementation of the Macao Youth Indicators Profile will undoubtedly be a major undertaking which will benefit Macao, its citizens and the country. The Macao Youth Indicators Profile will enable measurement, comparison and prediction of the situation of young people, thereby providing parameters for a more defined goal and monitoring work of youth work and youth policies to both the government and the private sector. This can greatly improve the external environment which is conducive to the healthy development of youth in Macao.
